Viv Rosser, who adapted and illustrated this book, is an artist, a qualified primary-teacher and child-therapist. She has several more stories about Marianne the mermaid, having been inspired by the children's reaction when she showed them the book at school. Girls in particular love mermaids and the boys have a certain interest too especially if there's a sense of danger. See the popular Mermaid series books by Viv Rosser if you haven't read them already.
